Cynthia Green

Founder & President: Cynthia is the catalyst behind Sisters of the Spirit, guiding the overall strategic and creative vision. Born and raised in Kansas City, Cynthia started singing as a little girl with her siblings - known as The Williamson Singers. "She always had a passion for singing, with a special love for gospel music." Cynthia graduated from Southeast High School in 1976. From there, she joined Honeywell FM&T, where she was been employed for 32 years as a Production Fabricator.

During her employment, she has performed at many company functions. She was also one of the lead singers for The Dorothy Pettus Singers, traveling and singing some of gospel’s greatest songs. Cynthia is happily married to Roosevelt Donnell Green Jr. for over 30 years. She has two wonderful children - Tameka and Dale. She is family-oriented, and they are her number one supporters in all her endeavors. In January 2006, Cynthia released her first gospel CD entitled “My Time Has Come” which is the first song she wrote. In April 2006 Cynthia ministered ten songs at her free-to-the-public CD release concert. In May 2006 she performed in Connection 2006 at the Overland Park Convention Center, where she placed first in her genre. Cynthia often guest stars in the play "A Triumph of the Spirit " a story about Harriet Tubman.

Cynthia constantly gives God the glory for these great endeavors. Not long after releasing her debut album, My Time Has Come, God impregnated Cynthia with a vision to reach out to women and teach them the basic principles of love. Cynthia recognized many examples of women exhibiting ill feelings towards one another (low self-esteem; abusive behaviors) she also noticed how these behavior led to destructive relationships, destroyed families and even self-destruction. Cynthia's vision was to start an outreach ministry within the four walls of her church before reaching out among the community. "God gave women the gift to give life, that gives us the innate ability to serve as strong and influential mothers in our families and communities", says Green. Being obedient to the spirit of God, Cynthia followed His guidance and created this spirit-filled outreach ministry with the support of Rising Star Baptist Church. We now affectionately know that ministry as Sisters of the Spirit. From here, Sisters of the Spirit Women’s Conference was birthed. Today, sisters around the country share the vision and passion of this dynamic organization and continue to touch the lives of women all over the world.
